  • Creating a gift registry allows your friends and family to support you and your new baby – it takes a village to raise a child.
  • Your friends and family will easily be able to choose a gift that is exactly what you need avoiding unnecessary duplication and waste.

Most of our products are locally made and we always support local where we can. In most instances of imported products, you will find that local alternatives are not yet available, or we feel that one of our other pillars, for example Trusted, or Responsible need to take precedence given the nature of the product. As best we can, we try to use our three pillars as a guide to bring you the best available and best quality products to support your baby.

Once you have created a Babalist you will be prompted to add items to your registry. You can also add items directly to your registry when browsing our online shop.

Please note you cannot add an item to your registry before selecting the desired size, colour or style of that item you wish to add (For E.g 0 – 3 months). Once you have made your selection, you will be able to ‘Add to Registry’.

If you would like to add more than one of a particular product to your registry you can change the quantity desired under the ‘Items’ list on your ‘My Registry’ page and click Save.

You can add items to your registry at any time in the weeks leading up to your baby shower event date by logging in on our website and navigating to ‘My Registry’ under the ‘Registry’ drop down menu on our main menu. Be sure however to complete your registry and share it with your friends in time for them to purchase off your registry, and for us to prepare your gifts for your event. Please note, in order for us to order, collect, wrap and delivery your gifts your registry will close one week prior to your baby shower event date.

If you would like to add more than one of a particular product to your registry you can change the quantity desired under the ‘Items’ list on your ‘My Registry’ page and click Save.

  1. Find the products that you would like to order via our Shop or by using the direct link your friend sent you for their gift registry.
  2. Browse products, categories or brands using the navigation menu on the right hand side on our Shop. You can also search for products by using the ‘Search’ box.
  3. When you find a product that you like, add it to your shopping cart by clicking the ‘Add to Cart’ button. Note that some products come in different sizes, colours or styles. If this is indicated for a product, click on its Choose an Option drop down menu to choose your preference before adding to your cart.
  4. When you have chosen all the products that you would like to buy, click the shopping cart icon in the top left hand corner of your screen, or by clicking the ‘View Cart’ button in the green confirmation bar after you have placed your final product in your cart.
  5. Once at your Cart you can navigate back to the baby registry list you were viewing by clicking the link at the top of the screen.
  6. You will be asked to register or you can proceed to check out as a guest.
  7. You will be given the option to add gift wrapping to your order, and a personal message for the parents to be.
  8. You will then be asked to choose your delivery method. Your order can either be delivered to your friend’s baby shower address on the date of the baby shower in time for her to unwrap her gifts with her friends and family, or you can deliver the gift to yourself and bring the gift along with you. Once you have chosen your delivery method, click the button ‘Proceed to checkout’.
  9. You will then be asked to fill our your Billing Details on the left hand side of the screen. If you have already registered an account with the website these will be auto-populated for you.
  10. On the right hand side of the screen you will be able to confirm the delivery address details. If you have selected delivery to the baby shower, the baby shower address will be auto-populated for you. If you wish to ship the items to the same address you filled in on your billing details, simply uncheck the checkbox ‘Ship to a different address’ and we will ship your items to the same address as your billing address.
  11. Check the details of your order below the addresses and ‘Accept’ the website terms and conditions. Then click the ‘Place Order’ button.
  12. You will then be asked to choose your payment method – you can pay by credit card, or instant EFT We conduct our online purchases through the payment gateway PayFast. If you are paying by credit card you may be requested to enter a one time password (OTP) which is a password using 3D secure payment security technology. This is sent to your phone in order to increase online payment protection and avoid fraud.
  13. Once your order has been paid for, you will receive an email notification from us confirming your purchase.

We deliver to any address in South Africa. Unfortunately, we do not currently ship internationally. You can either choose to deliver the gift directly to your friends baby shower – we will auto-populate this address if you choose this option; or to an address of your choosing.

Registry Purchases

If you choose to have your gift delivered to the baby shower, it will arrive at your friend’s home on the date of the event. Please note registry purchases close one week prior to the baby shower event date. If you place an order off of a registry within one week of the registry date, we can’t guarantee your gift will arrive at the baby shower. If you place an order for a baby shower within a week of the event we will supply the parents to be with a gift card detailing your purchase and personal message, and delivery late purchases at a secondary date after the event.

Online Shop

If you have ordered a product via our Online Shop and it is not linked to a baby shower, we will deliver your order to you within 7 – 10 working days.

Late Deliveries

Unforeseen circumstances e.g. adverse weather, closed roads, strikes etc. could prolong the delivery time. This is rare but it does happen, so ‘late’ delivery is not a ground for refund or cancellation of the order. However if your delivery has not been delivered after the estimated times shown above, please contact us with your order number so that we can follow up on the matter.

We take care of the gift giving for you! Rather than having to wrap and take the gift with you, we’ll keep everything safe here and deliver the whole registry to the babyshower ready to be unwrapped with the other gifts. No wrapping, no driving back to fetch the forgotten gift, no standing around looking for the gift table. Just click, buy, and let us handle the work of making sure they get everything.

If you would prefer to take the gift yourself, simply choose this delivery option and fill in your own address. Please note, gift registries close a week prior to the baby shower event in order for us to collect, package and wrap all the items in time for the shower. If you would like to take the gift to the event yourself, please be sure to order outside of this window, and with ample time for us to deliver the gift directly to you. We work with bespoke small businesses and this level of intimacy and care can take a bit more time. Delivery turnaround time to non-event destinations is 7 – 10 working days.

You can place an order for delivery in South Africa no matter where you are in the world. Our website is handy if you live abroad and want to send a luxurious gift to relatives or friends who live in South Africa. Just ensure that the delivery address you fill in is a South African one, even if paying with an international card.

We do not currently offer overseas delivery in our checkout process, however we are happy to quote you on a individual basis. Please contact us and let us know what you are interested in purchasing and we will quote you a delivery charge.

The registry will close one week prior to the event in order for us to order, wrap and deliver your gifts to the babyshower event in time. If you purchase a gift from the registry after the 1 week prior closing date, we will deliver a voucher with the details of your gift purchased and your special message, and arrange a delivery to your friend post event.

If you can’t find anything you’d like to give the couple on the registry, or you would like to add more gifts that don’t appear on the registry you can navigate to our Online Shop to browse and select a gift from our wide range of products,.

If you still can’t find something you would like to buy for them, or you have in mind a particular amount you wish to spend, you can buy the couple a gift voucher for any amount. We always add an option to buy gift vouchers, which are valid for 1 year, so your friends can buy whatever their hearts desire, even after the registry is delivered. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Plus, we’ll deliver it to them with the rest of their gifts, so there’s no admin for you.

On checkout, we offer a ‘Add gift wrapping’ option to your order. This allows you to add a personal message to your order. We will also wrap your order beautifully for you so it arrives wrapped and ready for gift opening at the baby shower.

When the babyshower event date has passed, your friend is given the option to exchange items for newer ones that have come up since they registered, or put the value of a few of the smaller gifts towards one or two larger pieces. After the registry is delivered, if anything arrives that they are not happy with, they can return it in exchange for another product of the same value or a Babalust gift voucher. We do not issue cash refunds for registry gifts, unfortunately. Warranties are available on most products, and we are happy to help facilitate exchanges or repairs if needed.

You are welcome to return any good purchased within 7 days of receiving the item. Unfortunately we can only accept goods for return that are still in their original unopened packaging. Please note: You will need to pay to have the item couriered or posted back to us. If the return is due to a faulty/damaged product as soon as we receive it, we will issue you a credit note.

Refunds are dealt with on a case-by-case basis and are generally processed within 3 working days.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not accept returns of any feminine hygiene or intimate products.

If you do not receive your order in mint condition or if anything is broken or damaged please let us know immediately so that we can ensure the situation is rectified. Whilst we have not lost any parcels in the post to date, goods are occasionally damaged in transit, and there is no question that these will be replaced. If you can, please do take a photo of the damaged item as this helps our packing team improve the way products are sent.

Anyone at the delivery address can accept the delivery. In order for us to prove that delivery of an order has been completed, we do not have to prove that you personally received the goods, but rather that any person at the delivery address signed for the delivery.

Courier deliveries are made Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, so you should always provide a delivery address where there will be an appropriate person to sign for the delivery during these times. If there is no one around to accept the delivery, the courier company will contact the recipient via telephone so that a new delivery day can be arranged.

Our website will flag items that are currently out of stock, even if they have been added to a registry. However it is possible that you will order a product that we are out of stock of. If this happens we will contact you within one working day to notify you and to give you options e.g. swap for another similar product etc. Rest assured that we will always do our best to get the products you desire to you as soon as possible and that you will always be in the loop with how your order is progressing.

Our Pop Up shop is physically located at the Backyard Cafe at no. 4 Sol Cohen Road in Bergvliet, Cape Town.

Absolutely! This is a wonderful way to truly see the quality of our products and get a first hand experience of the beautiful textures of our ranges. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee, and slice of cake at the Backyard Cafe next door.

Please note: We do not however stock our full online range at the Pop Up.

How does buying a gift from a registry work?

1. Browse your friend’s baby registry and choose a gift you’d like to purchase for them.
2. Press the “Add to Cart” button on the item.
3. From there, you can choose to add more gifts or to proceed to Checkout.
4. At Checkout, you can add a special message, select if you would to add gift wrapping and pay using any of our payment methods.

We’ll deliver your gift to their babyshower* or you can choose to have the gift delivered to you instead to wrap and bring it along to the event yourself.

*You won’t need to take a gift with you to the event. The registry closes 1 week prior to the event and we will have your gift delivered to the event ready to be opened with the other gifts. If you’ve chosen for your gift to be gift wrapped, it will be dolled up in our beautiful Babalustful gift wrapping.
